New Horizons of Science: Results of PhD Student A. Ospanbek's International Internship
1 June 2026
A second-year doctoral student in the "Medicine" educational program, Ospanbek Aigul Keneskyzy (scientific advisors: Professor B.K. Omurkulov, Professor L.K. Ibrayeva, Professor S.Yu. Perov), undertook a research internship at the Laboratory of Electromagnetic Fields at the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "Research Institute of Occupational Health named after Academician N.F. Izmerov" (Moscow, Russian Federation) fr om May 11 to May 25, 2026.During the internship, the doctoral student familiarized herself with the laboratory's operations (headed by Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor S.Yu. Perov). The laboratory's scientific activities are focused on conducting fundamental, exploratory, and applied scientific research to gain new knowledge about the impact of electric, magnetic, electromagnetic fields, and laser radiation on humans, with the aim of preserving and improving the health of workers and the general population.
Additionally, A. Ospanbek was introduced to the work on studying the biological effects of electromagnetic fields and laser radiation; the scientific substantiation of hygienic standards for electromagnetic fields and laser radiation; conducting hygienic, physiological, and epidemiological studies at workplaces and residential areas under the influence of electromagnetic fields and laser radiation; substantiating and developing criteria and methods for controlling electromagnetic fields at workplaces and in residential areas; substantiating and developing hygienic requirements for protecting workers and the population from the adverse effects of electromagnetic fields and laser radiation; and substantiating, developing, implementing, and improving theoretical and experimental methods of electromagnetic dosimetry for hygienic standardization purposes.
A. Ospanbek participated in a scientific seminar during an extended meeting of the laboratory, wh ere she presented a report on her dissertation research topic. Thus, the knowledge and practical experience gained by A. Ospanbek will be utilized in her further research work and will contribute to the further development of international scientific cooperation.
