Karaganda Medical University Participated in the Days of Kazakhstani Medicine in the Kyrgyz Republic

On September 15–18, 2026, representatives of "Karaganda Medical University" NCJSC took part in the Days of Kazakhstani Medicine in the Kyrgyz Republic. The events were aimed at strengthening professional interaction between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, exchanging experience, and developing cooperation in healthcare, medical education, and clinical practice.
As part of the program, specialists from Karaganda Medical University conducted a series of workshops at Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after  I.K. Akhunbaev and the International Higher School of Medicine, as well as participated in the clinical and official programs of the Days of Kazakhstani Medicine.
On September 15, Berik Yerkebulanovich Tuleubayev, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Surgical Diseases at "Karaganda Medical University" NCJSC, and Head of the Trauma Center at the Professor Multidisciplinary Hospital named after  Kh.Zh. Makazhanov, conducted a workshop titled "Implementation of the Marburg Bone Bank System: Modern Applications of Allogeneic Bone Tissue in Reconstructive Orthopedics."
The workshop took place across two educational venues in Bishkek —Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after  I.K. Akhunbaev and the International Higher School of Medicine. During the sessions, modern approaches to the organization and operation of a bone bank were presented, along with the potential for applying allogeneic bone tissue in reconstructive orthopedics.
On September 16, Yelena Mikhailovna Laryushina, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine at "Karaganda Medical University" NCJSC, Physician of the Highest Category, and Gastroenterologist, held a workshop titled "Inflammatory Bowel Diseases: From Early Detection to Personalized Therapy," also at Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after  I.K. Akhunbaev and the International Higher School of Medicine.
The workshop covered contemporary approaches to the early detection of inflammatory bowel diseases, differential diagnostics issues, and the selection of personalized patient management strategies.



On September 17, the clinical program continued at the National Hospital of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic. Yelena Mikhailovna Laryushina provided consultations for gastroenterological patients in the Department of Gastroenterology and Occupational Pathology.
On the same day, Viktor Petrovich Riklefs, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Master of Health Professions Education (Maastricht University, the Netherlands), Vice-Rector for Strategy, Digitalization, and Internationalization at "Karaganda Medical University" NCJSC, conducted a workshop titled "Developing Medical University Curricula Aimed at Enhancing Student Engagement: International Experience and Kazakhstani Practice."
During the workshop, participants discussed modern approaches to designing educational programs for a medical university, international and Kazakhstani practices for boosting student engagement, and opportunities for enhancing medical education using modern educational technologies.



On September 18, representatives of Karaganda Medical University participated in formal events of the Days of Kazakhstani Medicine, attended by representatives from the Ministries of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic.
As part of the official program, Viktor Petrovich Riklefs, Vice-Rector for Strategy, Digitalization, and Internationalization at "Karaganda Medical University" NCJSC, delivered a presentation during the plenary session.
The key outcome of the visit was the further development of institutional cooperation between the medical education organizations of both countries. On behalf of Karaganda Medical University, Viktor Petrovich Riklefs signed a Memorandum on Cooperation with the International Higher School of Medicine of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The participation of Karaganda Medical University in the Days of Kazakhstani Medicine made it possible to integrate educational, clinical, and international aspects of collaboration. The workshops, patient consultations, professional exchange, and agreements reached mark another significant step forward in strengthening collaboration between the medical organizations of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
