Description of the educational program

The educational program "Dentistry" is designed to train a general practitioner dentist. The term of study is 5 + 1 years, including 5 years of bachelor's degree with the award of the qualification "Bachelor of Health in the educational program "6B10122 – Dentistry" and 1 year of internship with the award of the qualification "General dentist". The educational program is designed to optimally master and develop the competencies of a specialist in the field of dentistry in accordance with regulatory legal acts. The structure of the educational program consists of blocks of general education, basic and specialized disciplines. The training ends with the final certification – an independent examination. When studying basic and specialized disciplines, special attention is paid to the development of medical knowledge and skills, critical thinking and communication skills in a professional environment, which are crucial for the provision of high-quality dental care.

A safe environment is formed in the conditions of the Center for Simulation Educational Technologies, where practical skills are mastered for subsequent transfer to university clinics. The university clinics are developing clinical competencies under the guidance of teachers.

1st year
  • Study in general education disciplines, taking into account the specifics of medical education;

2nd year
  • Formation of communicative skills in communication in a professional environment, practical skills of first contact with patients, learning the basics of dental practice;
  • Acquisition of knowledge in basic medical sciences.
3rd year
  • Immersion in a professional environment, transition, formation of patient care skills;
  • Mastering the clinical skills of examining dental patients, preventing dental diseases, studying the carious process and its complications, oral surgery issues, using modern treatment strategies, pain management using local anesthesia based on knowledge and biomedical sciences;
  • Formation of an understanding of patient safety in accordance with regulatory legal acts.
4th year
  • Further development of existing clinical skills and knowledge on the diagnosis and treatment of various groups of patients with diseases of internal organs with the study of symptoms/syndromes;
  • Further development of dental skills and knowledge on the diagnosis and treatment of various groups of patients with diseases of internal organs with the study of symptoms/syndromes.
5th year
  • Formation of skills and knowledge necessary for understanding dental diseases of the maxillofacial region;
  • Development of knowledge on solving complex problems of dental restoration, management of patients with complete absence of teeth, paying special attention to the development of a comprehensive treatment plan for the patient, while linking oral health with general health.
6th year
  • Rotation in 5 main disciplines of therapeutic, orthopedic and surgical dentistry, pediatric dentistry and orthodontics for the formation of key competencies and opportunities for further education.
